BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES
May 3, 2004

Those present included: Kathy Goss, Barbara Coles, Leesa Eason, Ken Shepherd, Beth Brocaw, Norm Stewart and Drew Mills.

Finances: Norm reported that we had $7969.33 on hand and that about $2000 was needed for Potato run. We have taken in about $1800 for Potato Run. We lost less than $50 on our April Saturday Night dance. There were about 50 people there.

Potato Run:  The site rent is $508.80 for three days. If this year is  bad financially we could save money if we want to do the dance again next year by only renting the site for two days. We are changing the cost for the weekend to dancers to $50 for each person with no increase for late registration. Prices will be $15 to dance only Saturday night, $10 for Friday night, and $10 for Sunday dancing only. For those dancing Friday or Saturday and wanting food and/or lodging the price will be $25 per day per person. A sign will be posted at check-in to list these prices. Scholorships are available for free admission to weekend for six hours work.

Demo Dance: Cherokee Triangle Demonstration Dance was held in April at the art fair. 150 flyers were handed out. Norm recommends we start a regional Yahoo list to announce dances. He will get more information on this.

July Saturday Night Dance: We have no band for this dance at this time. Barb Kirschner is calling. We will talk to Mark Cannon and see if he can put something together. Church of Advent: We are gong to have the floor cleaned by two men for $200. We hope this will make the floor less sticky in spots and make dancing better on it.

New Board: The annual membership meeting will be held on May 24, 2004 to elect the new board for 2004-5. Barb, Norm, Ken, Kathy, Larry Loew, Sherri Shepherd have agreed to be on it. A few others have yet to be determined to fill out the positions.

Balance The Belle 2004: We have gotten our first registration for this September weekend. Flyers will be mailed next week to all people who came last year, our membership group, and packets of flyers to other dance groups. Correct information is now on the website. We will need to have more flyers printed than we have now. It costs $95 per 500 at Kinko's. This includes folding. We will look for better deals at other printers.

Next Board meeting will be a combined one with old and new members meeting together. This is tentatively scheduled for June 7.
