BOARD OF DIRECTOR'S MEETING
JULY 05, 2004
 
Those present included Kathy Goss, , Gary Cobbs, Barbara Coles, Larry Loew, Ellen Buche Norm Stewart, and Ken Shepherd.

Finances: Nothing new to report.  No major changes.

Rent for April Dance:  Due to confusion over the April, 2004 dance and our use of Flying Fish Dance Palace, there was considerable
  discussion over how much, if any, to pay for the rent.  
Motion I:  Pay David Lazar $35, which is our standard amount for a Sat. dance.  M/s/p w/2 nays.
Motion II: LCD should, in the future, always have a written agreement between the board and rentor for venues other than our regular
  dance sites.  M/s/p.

Web Site:  LCD's official web page is now alterable by Norm and  Larry.
Motion III: LCD should continue to give Dwayne Johnson a free family membership in exchange for his maintaining and paying for LCD
    website. M/s/p w/one abstention.
Motion IV: Contribute $100 to CDSS fund to upgrade computer data base system and point of sale system. M/s/p w/one nay.

Insurance: We have an offer for a policy with F.L. Dean & Assoc. Inc. (1776 S. Naperville Rd., Bldg.-B, Wheaton, IL 60189) at a cost of
   $450 per year which is considerably cheaper than the CDSS policy cost.
Motion V: Motion was made to accept this offer. M/S/P.
Motion VI: Table item 3 on agenda (Church of the Advent/ Saturday night dances) until next meeting.  M/s/p.

Belle 2004: 20 Registrants so far.  Norm is organizing workshops and hiring bands and callers for such. Flyers have gone to groups and
   will go to last year's participants.  Betty Cisca at the Belle office said we can bring on pre-sold box lunches, but no water cooler, bottles
   or glasses.  
Motion VII: Hire caller for Friday night of Belle for $80 plus  admission for weekend (non-transferable to anyone else.) M/s/p.
Motion VIII: Pay $2 per person for Belle drinks, $75 for Calliope, and  $100 for use of their sound system. M/s/p.
Kathy Fabb will organize food for Fri./Sat. nights.  We will make Belle Budget official next meeting.

Fall and Winter Dances:  Oct. Chrissy Davis-Camp calling. Jan,2005: Glen Augenstein calling w/ Robin, his sister, heading up band.
   Feb, 2005: Full Moon Contra Dance Orch. (Cinci.) playing.

Membership:  Gary has gotten data base from Drew Mills with about 80 members and 500-600 people who have come to events.  Gary
   and Norm will work on a good data base and maybe get it on Yahoo to announce district dance events.

Next meeting-- August 8 at 6:30 p.m. Site uncertain.
